1. Lottery Name and Organizer
The "Split the Pot Alberta" lottery is organized and conducted by Ascend Fundraising Solutions in partnership with participating Alberta hospital and healthcare foundations.
2. Eligibility
- Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of ticket purchase
- Participants must be residents of Alberta, Canada
- Employees, board members, and immediate family members of the organizing bodies and participating foundations are not eligible
- Only one entry per ticket purchased
3. Ticket Sales Period
Ticket sales commence at the beginning of each draw period and close at the specified deadline, typically:
- Early Bird Deadline: Various dates throughout the month at 6:00 PM MST
- Grand Prize Deadline: Final day of the month at 10:00 PM MST
All times are Mountain Standard Time (MST).
4. Ticket Prices
Ticket pricing varies by package:
- Single ticket: $10
- Package options: Available at various price points with bonus entries
- Membership tiers: Include automatic monthly entries
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
5. Prize Structure
The jackpot is split as follows:
- Grand Prize (60%): One winner receives 60% of the total jackpot
- Second Prize (20%): Two winners each receive 10% of the total jackpot
- Third Prize (20%): Ten winners each receive 2% of the total jackpot
- Early Bird Prizes: Various amounts drawn at specified dates
6. Draw Process
- Winners are selected through a random computerized draw
- Draws are conducted under the supervision of independent auditors
- All draws comply with AGLC regulations
- Draw results are final and binding
7. Winner Notification
- Winners will be contacted via phone and/or email within 48 hours of the draw
- Winners' names (first name and last initial) and city will be published on our website
- Winners must respond within 30 days to claim their prize
- Prizes not claimed within the specified period will be forfeited
8. Prize Claim Process
To claim a prize, winners must:
- Provide valid government-issued photo identification
- Complete and sign a Prize Claim Form
- Complete a Declaration and Release Form
- Consent to the use of their name and image for promotional purposes (optional)
9. Prize Distribution
- Prizes are distributed via electronic transfer or cheque
- Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes
- Prizes cannot be transferred or substituted
- Prize amounts may be subject to verification and audit
10. Allocation of Proceeds
After prize payouts and operational costs:
- 50% of ticket sales go directly to participating healthcare foundations
- Participants can choose to support a specific foundation or distribute equally among all partners
- A detailed accounting is provided to AGLC as required
11. Responsible Gaming

12. Privacy and Data Protection

13. Disputes
- All decisions by the lottery organizers regarding rule interpretation are final
- Disputes must be submitted in writing within 30 days
- AGLC may be contacted for unresolved disputes
14. Amendments
The organizers reserve the right to amend these rules with approval from AGLC. Any amendments will be posted on the website and communicated to ticket holders.
15. Force Majeure
The lottery may be cancelled or postponed in the event of circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, or government orders. In such cases, ticket holders will be offered a refund or entry into a future draw.
